The HP DeskJet All-in-One is designed with space in mind, and that’s a huge win for anyone like me who’s working with limited real estate. Its compact footprint means it can fit snugly on a small desk or even a shelf without taking over the whole room. For students in tiny apartments or home offices, this is a lifesaver—especially when you need to juggle books, papers, and your laptop.

While single-function printers might seem cheaper, I found the all-in-one capabilities of this model come in handy more often than I expected. Need to scan a signed lease or copy a document quickly? The DeskJet can handle that without needing to pull out a separate machine. It’s that versatility that makes it feel like a smart choice for light home use.

Setting up the DeskJet was surprisingly straightforward, thanks in large part to the HP Smart app. I was able to connect it to my Wi-Fi network with relative ease, which is great when you want to print from your phone or tablet. However, I did have some hiccups on a couple of occasions where my older router didn’t play nice, and I found myself fiddling with settings more than I’d like.

In terms of everyday use, the DeskJet does a decent job with light home documents, schoolwork, and the occasional shipping label.
