When I first hooked up the PAIYON HIFI-4S, I was pleasantly surprised at how they held up in a nearfield setup. That said, I do appreciate the straightforward aesthetic—nothing flashy, just a simple design that blends into the background. They won’t win any awards for looks, but they also won’t clash with your decor, which is a win in my book.
This is where things can get a bit tricky with the HIFI-4S. You can’t just plug them into your turntable and expect to hear music; you need an external amplifier or receiver. If you already have an old stereo receiver tucked away, you’re in luck, but if not, you’ll need to factor that into your setup.

As I settled into daily listening, I found the HIFI-4S to be quite adequate for background music while working or winding down in the evening. They excel in nearfield listening situations, where you can appreciate their clarity and balance without needing to crank the volume. For casual record playback, they deliver a pleasant experience without demanding too much from the listener.
06Upgrade Path / Who It's For
One of the things I appreciate about the PAIYON HIFI-4S is the potential for an upgrade path. If you start with these speakers and later decide to invest in a better amplifier or turntable, you can do so without having to replace everything at once. This makes them a solid choice for someone who wants to build their audio system piece by piece.
