It’s designed for use with powered speakers or a receiver rather than built-in speakers. Its main appeal is offering more setup control than a suitcase record player at a budget price.
I’d call it a decent step up from a suitcase player, but it’s not my default beginner pick if the price gets close to Audio-Technica or Fluance.

This is a manual belt-drive turntable with beginner-friendly extras, not an all-in-one record player.
The built-in phono preamp means you can run it into powered speakers or a standard line input without buying a separate phono stage right away.
It still doesn’t replace speakers. If you buy this expecting built-in sound like a Victrola or Crosley suitcase unit, you’ll need more gear.
