Sonos Sub Mini - Compact Subwoofer Review

For vinyl lovers like me, that can be a bit of a hurdle. It doesn’t connect directly to a turntable, and if you’re not already set up within the Sonos world, you might find yourself wishing for something a little more universal.

In everyday use, the Sub Mini shines in smaller spaces, especially for those living in apartments. The force-canceling design keeps cabinet buzz under control, which is a blessing when your floors and walls are less than isolated. I could crank the music without worrying about disturbing the neighbors or feeling that dreaded rattling.

While it does enhance the sound, it’s worth noting that it won’t replicate the full home theater experience in a large open-plan living room. It adds fullness to a Beam or Arc, but if you’re after that earth-shattering home theater impact, you might be left wanting.

For many casual listeners, the Sub Mini is a better value compared to the full Sonos Sub. It provides a compact bass upgrade without taking up a ton of real estate or breaking the bank. If you’re looking for something that fits seamlessly into your space and enhances your music experience, this sub hits that sweet spot.

That said, if you’re comparing it to traditional powered subwoofers based solely on price and specs, it might feel a bit steep. But remember, you’re paying for the integration and convenience that comes with the Sonos ecosystem, which is a trade-off that makes sense for many users.
